We’ve Got A new Member of the Opry!

He made his debut at the Opry back in 1997 & Now he’s Finally a Member!!

Multi-platinum selling artist Mark Wills was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on Friday night. His good friend and fellow member, Craig Morgan, officially welcomed him and handed him the Opry trophy on stage, and to perform his first official song as a member, he changed into a black, sparkly jacket that he borrowed from the closet of the  late George Jones

Opry legend Jeannie Seely introduced him on stage, just as she had done for his debut appearance in 1997. We talked with Mark about his long journey to become a member. He told us this: “I can honesty tell you I don’t think I would have appreciated this as much in 96-97-98-99 as I do in 2019. I’ve seen how this is truly a family. I’ve seen how we support each other. And when somebody’s sick, we rally around them or when somebody needs something. When Vince Gill can’t sing, and he looks at me and says ‘come sing for me’… it’s a family. And I think I appreciate it more now than I would have then. Much more appreciative.”
