Carrie Underwood Marks 10th Anniversary at Opry

Carrie Underwood celebrated her 10th Anniversary as a Grand Ole Opry member with an appearance on the Opry on Saturday night at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. The superstar was inducted into the Opry family on May 10, 2008 by Opry member Garth Brooks.  In March of that year, Carrie was surprised with her membership invitation by Opry member Randy Travis after she performed her Number One hit “I Told You So,” a song written and originally recorded by Randy, so when she performed the song again this weekend, she was again surprised when Randy made another appearance to congratulate her on a decade of Opry membership.

In other Carrie news, she and her husband, Mike Fisher, are thinking about moving to a new residence in the wake of her serious fall on the steps of their Franklin-area home back in November. A source told People magazine, “They are completely done with the neighborhood. The decision came after her fall. They’ve been having a lot of issues with neighbors letting people in the community to look around and it all escalated after the fall.”

Carrie’s husband announced over the weekend that he is again retiring from hockey and the Nashville Predators. He came out of retirement in February and helped the Predators into the Western Conference finals, but on Saturday announced that he is finally done. He told NHL.com, “I’ve milked this cow as long as it’ll go. It’s bone dry.”
