“The first time we played in Nashville, we played for – I’m not kidding – 30, 40 people…” Erich Church says in a press release.
Well, just a few more came out over the holiday weekend to watch The Chief wrap up his Holdin’ My Own Tour in Nashville.
On Friday, May 26th 18,996 members of the Church Choir walked through the doors at Bridgestone Arena to set a new attendance record. This beat out the previous recorded holder, Bon Jovi, who had an attendance record of 18,514. But Eric Church wasn’t done. On Saturday May 27th, less than 24 hours after setting a new record, the Record Year singer broke his own record by flooding Bridgestone Arena with 19,020 fans.
In a press release from his website Chruch said,
“This tour has been my career’s biggest challenge physically, but I can honestly say I’m gonna miss it…Seeing what happens between us and the crowd for over three hours a night is awe inspiring. I’m gonna miss seeing those faces and freezing that moment in time night after night.”
