1981 – Dolly Parton performs “9 to 5” at the Academy Awards, which were postponed 24 hours following the shooting of President Ronald Reagan. Sissy Spacek wins the Best Actress award for her role as Loretta Lynn in “Coal Miner’s Daughter”.

1997 – Trace Adkins registers his first #1 single in Billboard with “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing”

2011 – Miranda Lambert wins four trophies during the 46th annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. She nabs Top Female Vocalist, while “The House That Built Me” leads to Single Record, Song and Video of the Year
