Get ready to eat eat all the ice cream you can for a good cause. The date is set for the third annual Ice Cream Splash hosted by the Jefferson City Cultural Arts Foundation.
Friday, July 14 downtown Jefferson City will be cooled down with loads of ice cream. This family-friendly event will provide an opportunity to taste-test many kinds of ice cream, enjoy live entertainment, and participate in unique arts and crafts! Proceeds from the Ice Cream Splash will go toward funding a Splash Park in Jefferson City.
A Splash Park is a free recreation area, in a public spot, for water play that has little or no standing water. This attraction will provide another venue for free outdoor entertainment to the Jefferson City and surrounding area community. The Splash Park will be at the corner of Lafayette and Dunklin in Jefferson City.
Natalie Newville, Marketing Chair of the Ice Cream Splash Committee, has said about the last two Ice Cream Splashes,
“The last two events have been such huge successes. As of March 2017, we have raised $44,000. We look forward to the building of the Splash Park from the proceeds of this event, and of course there is the “all you can eat” ice cream!”
The Cultural Arts Foundation was created in 2013 and supports the efforts of The Jefferson City Cultural Arts Commission in bringing cultural activities for all to the Jefferson City Community.
